Mix06 live (11): Gathering of the Belgians

Gerd De Bruycker, Hans Verbeeck, me and David Boschmans

It was only at the end of Mix06 that I bumped into some people from Microsoft Belgium: Gerd De Bruycker (technical community Teched manager), Hans Verbeeck (developer evangelist EMEA) and David Boschmans (developer evangelist Belux).

Hmmm... Small correction: Gerd is now the organiser of TechEd:Developers and TechEd:IT Forum in Europe. He used to be responsible for the technical audiences in Belgium. Anyway, nice that you met some Belgians over there... ;)

Yep, evangelists. I know not a name we would come up with in Europe but most software companies have them. Adobe, Sun...
You know that when you mix the letters of evangelist you can make 'evil's agent'? Pretty cool, huh!

This was the food on th elast day. The previous days the food was much better.

I think the term "evangelist" was first introduced into the IT world by Guy Kawasaki at Apple in the early 90s. In 1994, I read his book "Selling the Dream: Sales as Evangelism". http://www.amazon.co.uk/exe...

Even after 12 years, still very true and actual.
