The Alzheimer Case

De Zaak Alzheimer heeft sinds 19 augustus de Amerikaanse bioscopen gehaald. "Memory of a Killer (The Alzheimer Case)", zo heet de film daar, Meer bij blogger El Hombre.

In The Wall Street Journal beschreef Jim Fusilli de film op 2 september jongstleden (deze link naar het artikel is gratis tot 18/09/2005) als volgt:

"The Memory of a Killer" is a taut film noir whose political views are woven deep into the story. This award-winning picture from Belgium is the kind Hollywood seems no longer interested in making: a sophisticated drama that presumes a level of insight and maturity in an audience that doesn't need winks and arrows to understand what's going on. [...] The film only occasionally echoes "Memento," Christopher Nolan's 2000 film about a man trying to overcome memory loss to solve a crime. [...] Set in 1995 in a rain-soaked Antwerp, "The Memory of a Killer" is fast-paced entertainment, the kind, say, that Warner Brothers used to churn out in a couple of months in the '40s. People aren't saints, the film says, but every now and then, one or two will act as though driven by divine intent. And you're smart enough to know why.
